Christmas in.....June???

I just started this new short story that's set around Christmas time. So, to give me the right sound and mood for the piece, I downloaded a bunch of Christmas music and have been listening to it all afternoon.

My head's spinning. I think I need a drink.

Cool! I do the exact same thing when I'm writing and it's a certain season that I'm trying to portray. I have to get in that "seasonal mood" and it really helps in my writing when I do that.

Can't wait to hear more about your story. :)

What do you write? (I mean, obviously you're "a novelist"!)

I like music to create a mood or a rhythm. But then I'll get stuck with the same ten songs for the entire time I'm writing -- anywhere from a couple of months to YEARS! I listened to Tori Amos's "Little Earthquakes" when writing the first draft of my novel....probably a thousand times. I can't even look at it anymore (though when I start revising, I'm sure I'll reach for it).
