Confession of the week

I love reading my site meter. I know I don't have tons of visitors here (a few loyal fans and friends and a few lurkers) but it's still fun to try and figure out who is coming here -- someone from France for 18 minutes, from Italy for 21...someone popped on from Brazil or Spain or Japan for a few seconds. Seemingly regulars from California or New York or Texas who I can't figure out who they are.

Makes me wonder what their stories are!

I think entre nous/Vanessa is also in Washington.

Really, it's addictive. I think it's the numbers part of me that gets drawn in. (Though I wish some of the lurkers would dive into the chit chat!)

I do the same thing. I am sometimes very surprised at the international readers I have. Flattered and surprised.

I especially like to see what they typed in to get to my blog. The most interesting thing was
"Giada di Laurentis' big boobs"
HA!

Have a great day!

Hmmm, I didn't know about site meters...where do you get one?

Oh, I do that too -- look at the referrals. That's one of my favorite things!

Karen, let me see if I remember; I think if you go to the main blogger page and search "site meter" it might come up, or maybe if you go to my site meter, there will be something that says, "Get your own site meter" or something like that.

Ha! I love looking at mine, too! I actually had one in Pakistan one day. I also love looking at the referrals, especially if they've found it through a search. Some of the searches are really funny.

Some people I have a rough idea of, some I have absolutely no clue at all. Oh, and as for Texas - my work internet goes through there, so it's probably me!

I do that too. *blush* Am rather curious about the people viewing from Oman, Kuwait, Egypt and Iran who pop up on my list of countries viewing.

Well, I know that many people just randomly get here -- but it's the ones who are here (especially from other countries!) and who appear to be actually reading what I'm writing that intrigue me the most.

Another hand up for LOVING Site Meter and it's glorious stats. The craziest referral I ever had was "nut licking". There have been some sick ones too. Imagine what the folks at Google must see...

I get a lot of searches under celebrities/movies -- those make the most sense. Then I wonder what goes through the "nut lickers" of the world when they stumble upon this!

By the way, I'm finding it endlessly amusing that my post about my site meter has generated so many comments!

Teehee, then I'm not alone in being entertained by sitemeters. :)

I love the feature on sitemeter.com where you can have your visitors shown on a worldmap. And then to see that they really do come from all over, weirdly enough.

Oh, I can play with the maps endlessly. I also like the pie graph that breaks it down according to continent or country.
